Minimally invasive surgical techniques with a focus on mini-PCNL were the focus of the congress of the Association des Urologues du Sud, Morocco

On January 27-28, 2023, the 5th Annual Congress of the Association des Urologues du Sud of the Moroccan Urological Society took place in Agadir. Prof. Dr. med. S. Lahme was invited as one of the international experts in the field of endourology.

The congress was held in cooperation with the International Alliance of Urolithiasis, an international scientific society dealing with the treatment of kidney stones. The congress focused on new developments in percutaneous surgical techniques, in particular the mini-PCNL. In several lectures, Prof. Dr. med. S. Lahme reported on new developments, but also on experiences from more than 20 years of mini-PCNL. On January 28, 2023, Prof. Dr. med. S. Lahme performed a live Mini-PCNL on a patient with a partial renal pelvic outflow tract stone. The transmission from the operating room of the International Hospital in Agadir was transmitted to the congress center, where the participants could see all the details of the mini-PCNL and ask questions about individual surgical steps during the operations. A lively discussion ensued, which showed that the Mini-PCNL is also attracting great interest in Africa.
