International webinar hosted by the International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU) with 2,500 participants on the topic: Percutaneous Management of Renal Stones: What is new?

Mini-PCNL is considered the method of choice for percutaneous removal of urinary stones today. An international expert panel discussed the latest developments in percutaneous kidney stone removal in front of more than 2,500 participants.

The International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU) is the largest international professional society dedicated to the treatment of kidney stones. During a webinar attended by 2,500 participants, international experts from China, Italy, India, Turkey, and Germany discussed the latest trends in percutaneous kidney stone treatment. Goldstadt Privatklinik discussed the value of Mini-PCNL depending on the size of the kidney stone to be removed. As Prof. Dr. S. Lahme explained in his presentation, Mini-PCNL, provided experience, can be used for almost all kidney stone sizes from 1.5cm in diameter. However, for very large kidney stones, multiple percutaneous accesses to the kidney may be necessary. In Goldstadt Privatklinik, in individual cases, up to 6 simultaneous punctures were performed for patients with so-called staghorn stones.
